Game of Thrones’ season 5 won’t arrive for at least two months, but HBO’s latest preview gives us a closer look at the new episodes than ever before. Spend “A Day in the Life” of three separate countries shooting ‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 by watching the entirety of HBO’s new behind-the-scenes special!

Clocking in at a meaty 26 minutes, the new “A Day in the Life” special covers exactly what it sounds like, moving through a full day across multiple locales (Dubrovnik, Belfast, Osuna, Sevilla) shooting different sections of ‘Game of Thrones’ season 5. In addition to a few sneak peeks at new footage and characters, the special also offers a stunning insight into the incredible production, everything from additional darkening of an extras’ teeth for background work, to making sure Emilia Clarke has a handle on her High Valyrian.

Elsewhere of ‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 (already renewed for 6, with the cast signed through 7), we know of multiple returning, confirmed absent, and new characters cast, including those that confirm we’ll be visiting the oft-mentioned kingdom of Dorne, for which Spain doubles. The story will draw heavily from George R.R. Martin’s fourth and fifth novels, ‘A Feast for Crows’ and ‘A Dance with Dragons,’ while HBO has also provided a list of directors, as well as insight into which literary stories may not make the transition to film.

While we wait, there are still plenty of ‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 photos to pore over, as well as the full trailer below (and our beat-by-beat breakdown), but in the meantime check out the full “Day in the Life” special above as we count down to the April 12 premiere!
