The fourth season of Game of Thrones marked a unique turning point, in that Isaac Hempstead-Wright’s Bran became one of the first major characters to run out of written story from George R.R. Martin. It wasn’t altogether surprising to have the character sit out Season 5, but it seems Bran will be back and Greenseeing for good in Season 6.

The Irish Examiner spoke to Isaac Hempstead-Wright on a number of topics, though the Boxtrolls star confirmed that he’d return for Game of Thrones Season 6, as we’d previously heard a number of rumblings toward. When last we saw the character in Season 4 finale “The Children,” the second youngest Stark boy finally reached the mysterious “Three-Eyed Raven,” and started his training in the art of “Greenseeing.”

I can’t say a lot but I am back this season, and it’s going to get particularly interesting with Bran. He has some interesting visions.

Bran’s visions could dovetail with a number of suggestions evident in Season 6 casting, including those that spell out flashbacks for some major characters, and new revelations of key backstory. Wright also kept predictably tight-lipped about Jon Snow’s fate, though with fans placing every fiber of Kit Harington’s hair under a microscope, might as well have Bran chime in:

I don’t know [if he will come back]. He’s said he’s not. I wish he would because I love Kit and because the character’s so cool. Who knows? We start filming series six at the end of this month (July) so we’ll see.

Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 6, we know that casting has begun on a number of other new roles, several of which suggest we’ll follow Samwell Tarly on his departure from the Night’s Watch, while others seemingly confirm we’ll pick up with George R.R. Martin’s discarded Iron Islands subplots. Apart from a list of directors, debate continually rages as to whether Kit Harington’s Jon Snow will participate in Season 6, as while cast and crew deny it, story logistics seemingly confirm scenes set at The Wall in Season 6.

Game of Thrones will likely keep its Season 6 secrets under wraps after that snoozer of a Comic-Con panel, but what clues can we read by Isaac Hempstead’s return as Bran?
