Game of Thrones has walked a narrow tightrope on the way to Season 6, declining comment on the various Kit Harington sightings that seemingly spoil Jon Snow’s fate, while still towing the company line. Now, some incredible new rumors of a major battle could be our biggest Jon Snow break yet, as well as offer insight into Season 6's major plot.

You’re warned of … well, about every Game of Thrones Season 6 spoiler imaginable at this point, but if anything about Jon Snow’s survival were in doubt, we might have to start worrying all over again. Not only has Kit Harington again appeared before off-set Ireland cameras (alongside Ramsay Bolton, Iwan Rheon at that!), Watchers on the Wall sources placed Harington at a tremendous battle sequence in Saintfield, Northern Ireland, rumored to be that of the traditional ninth episode climax.

It’s difficult to say exactly how much of the supposed sequence could reflect author George R.R. Martin’s future stories (incidentally, Winds of Winter, coming 2016!), though the report claims “the battle will involve many northern armies fighting including the Umbers, the Boltons, wildlings and more.” And really, at this point, can anyone doubt that Jon Snow has a further role to play in future seasons, however many there are?

Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 6, screen legend Max von Sydow has been cast as the mysterious Three-Eyed Raven to a returning Bran, while Deadwood alum Ian McShane will also appear in a limited, mysterious role, joining Richard E. Grant, and Borgen star Pilou Asbæk to play fan-favorite Euron Greyjoy. Apart from a list of directors, debate has long raged as to whether Kit Harington’s Jon Snow will participate in Season 6, even as Harington was already seen in Belfast, and story logistics seemingly confirm scenes set at The Wall next year.

Months yet will elapse before HBO confirms any official Game of Thrones Season 6 details, but what can we surmise from the latest reports?
