Just yesterday, word of a certain Game of Thrones actor’s return for Season 6 gave heavy indication of which long-delayed book plot might make it into the HBO drama’s 2016 run. Now, another familiar face has been observed on the set, seemingly confirming what Jaime and the late Catelyn Stark’s family will be up to in Game of Thrones Season 6.

Following yesterday’s news, Los Siete Reinos (Via Watchers on the Wall) confirmed that Outlander star Tobias Menzies has been observed on the Ireland set, reprising his Season 3 role as Edmure Tully, brother to the late Catelyn Stark. Not to relive the trauma, but those among us will remember the “Rains of Castamere” climax to Game of Thrones Season 3, in which Edmure was married to Roslin Frey as substitution for Robb Stark, and carried out of the wedding reception before … well, things got notably Red from there.

In the books, Edmure later factors into a conflict between the Lannister army and Catelyn’s similarly-survived uncle Bryden “Blackfish” Tully, a development seemingly confirmed for Season 6 by the return of Clive Russell. How long we’ll have Menzies return remains to be seen, given the actor’s first duty to Starz’s Outlander.

Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 6, screen legend Max von Sydow has been cast as the mysterious Three-Eyed Raven to a returning Bran, while Deadwood alum Ian McShane will also appear in a limited, mysterious role, joining Richard E. Grant and The Babadook star Essie Davis as theatre troup players, four notable actors as the Tarly family, Melanie Liburd as a new Red Priestess, and Borgen star Pilou Asbæk as fan-favorite Euron Greyjoy. Apart from a list of directors, Of Monsters and Men will put in a cameo, and story logistics seemingly confirm scenes set at The Wall next year, presumably to explain this giant spoiler.

Well, what can we make of the latest Game of Thrones Season 6 sighting? Can we expect more official confirmation of the role before 2016?
