As it turns out, Godzilla is a monster of refined tastes, and he's just added a little French to the menu with the casting of Juliette Binoche.

Variety reports that Juliette Binoche (of 'Cosmopolis,' and Michael Haneke's fever dreams) is currently in casting negotiations for Gareth Edwards' upcoming reboot of the monster classic 'Godzilla' for Legendary Pictures. The pic is currently undergoing a rewrite courtesy of Frank Darabont ('The Mist') and was set to begin shooting this March, though we're unsure if the film will still be able to hit that start date.

None of the actors are able to officially sign on until the script is finalized and approved by the studio, but Aaron Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Bryan Cranston have all been cast in an official-unofficial capacity.

The film is set to hit theaters on May 16, 2014, so the clock is definitely ticking on getting that script completed so Binoche and her co-stars can get to work.
