Earlier than expected, TV’s biggest award has arrived at the 2018 Golden Globes. And seeing as the future is both female and frightening, it should come as little shock that Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale won the award for Best Television Series, Drama.

Accepting the award just minutes after Elisabeth Moss won for her Handmaid’s Tale role as June (Osborne?), writer and producer Bruce Miller took the stage to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for the win. He also thanked journalists for championing the show (you’re welcome!), along with all those who fight to make sure Margaret Atwood’s dystopian tale doesn’t become reality.

The Handmaid’s Tale won in a crowded field that this year included Netflix’s The Crown and Stranger Things, HBO’s Game of Thrones and NBC’s This Is Us. Last year’s field was virtually unchanged (save for Westworld and The Handmaid’s Tale), though The Crown took home the night’s top TV honor. Next year, The Crown will have an all-new cast to steal back the award.

We’ll follow along with every winner from tonight’s big show, so stay tuned for more on the 2018 Golden Globes.
