John Goodman has hosted ‘Saturday Night Live’ a lot—13 times, to be precise—and the veteran actor has seen plenty of sketches come and go, including a few that probably just couldn’t be salvaged (even if they did star Will Ferrell and/or a bunch of very expensive chairs). On last night’s ‘Late Night,’ Goodman shared some of his very favorites with host (and former ‘SNL’ head writer) Seth Myers.

There was the sleuthing kid sketch with Amy Poehler and Meyers, the failed bank robbery sketch, and something about someone’s wife dying—a veritable cornucopia of bad ideas! Perhaps some of these should have been cut, but at least we still get the joy of Goodman giddily remembering them. That’s better.
