Gotham already dwelt deep enough in the comic world that few were surprised to see Jada Pinkett Smith’s Fish Mooney return in Season 2 from a watery end, but less surprising is that Fish would exert her newly-cultivated influence on Season 3. Gotham bosses confirm as much, as a new Season 3 photo sees Fish making a notable entrance.

Per TVLine, Gotham boss Danny Cannon confirmed Pinkett Smith’s return to the Bat-prequel drama with a new photo from an unknown location. Of course, Fish Mooney ended Season 2 in a significantly less ambiguous position, to have walked away alongside a myriad of Indian Hill escapees, though her exact tenure in Season 3 remains unclear.

Who knows? Maybe both sides of the Smith family will meet their respective iterations of Batman once these universes start to cross over.

Elsewhere, Season 3 will also introduce us to Gotham’s take on Batman villain Jervis Tetch, better known as the Mad Hatter, along with the Tweedle brothers, Maggie Geha’s questionably aged-up Poison Ivy, Jamie Chung’s Valerie Vale, the Court of Owls, Talon, and a more true-to-comics Solomon Grundy than Arrow offered. Lest we forget, a certain laughing madman made a distinctly audible return in the Season 2 finale, and will likely resurface as well.

We’ll learn more of Gotham Season 3 in the coming months, including at Comic-Con 2016, but what other Bat-characters might Gotham introduce in the next run?
