The “Pax Penguina” over Gotham is breaking as Season 4 gears up for next week’s premiere. Our first photos and synopsis have arrived, unleashing a fully-formed Scarecrow over the city, while Ra’s al Ghul lurks in the shadows and Penguin finds his grip on the city loosening.

FOX released the first official photos and synopsis for next Thursday’s Season 4 premiere, “Pax Penguina,” as something goes horribly wrong with Penguin’s public unveiling of the new Iceberg Lounge. From the looks of things, Bruce and Selina are also getting more comfortable with rooftop banter, while you can find the full synopsis and photos below:

Gordon fears Jonathan Crane (guest star Charlie Tahan) is still alive and back in Gotham, when The Scarecrow’s signature MO is used in a series of robberies. Meanwhile, Penguin’s “licensing” of crime in the city backfires during the grand opening of his new Iceberg Lounge. Also, in the aftermath of his encounter with Ra’s Al Ghul, Bruce begins his vigilante watch in the all-new “Pax Penguina” season premiere episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, Sept. 21 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Elsewhere of Gotham Season 4, dubbed “Dawn of Night,” we know Teen Wolf alum Crystal Reed will take the role of Sofia Falcone, the intelligent and calculating daughter of Don Falcone. We also know Fringe alum Michael Cerveris will play Professor Pyg, while Butch Gilzean will return after the reveal that his real name was actually “Cyrus Gold” (aka Solomon Grundy).
