Pretty soon you'll be able to take one of this year's most epic and exciting films home to revisit whenever you like, as 'Guardians of the Galaxy' is hitting Blu-ray and DVD on December 9. And today director James Gunn gave fans a special sneak peek of one of the bonus features from the Blu-ray edition, with an opening that features a vintage arcade-style throwback version of Star-Lord on a very special mission.

On that mini-mission, Star-Lord encounters a video game version of Gunn himself, and from there the feature transitions into the live action stuff, with Gunn discussing the first document he ever wrote for 'Guardians of the Galaxy' -- 19 pages on the look of the film, and how he really wanted to capture the look and feel of a true space opera. It's just a little taste of the special features to come on the Blu-ray, but we can't wait to see more. We also hope there's more of the arcade stuff -- imagine little baby Groot as a classic video game character!

'Guardians of the Galaxy' is still going strong at the box office, and is currently the highest-grossing film of the year with $326 million. Gunn is returning for the sequel, scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
