'Guardians of the Galaxy' seems to be moving at light speed over at Marvel. Aside from the new comic book release, casting is well underway for the movie, most recently filling its lead role of Star-Lord with Chris Pratt. And now it looks like the next position to get filled is that of Drax the Destroyer with 'Game of Thrones' and 'Bullet to the Head' star Jason Momoa.

Latino Review is reporting that Momoa flew to London this week to meet with director James Gunn and audition for the role. Gunn and Marvel liked Momoa so much, they offered him the role on the spot and they are now in the middle of negotiations. However, no official action has been made.

Previously, the 'Old Spice' guy Isaiah Mustafa, 'Man with the Iron Fist' star Dave Bautista and Brian Patrick were all reportedly in the casting pool for the muscle of the group, but Momoa is probably the best actor of the lot and at 6'5" certainly has the physicality for the role.

Some quick background on Drax: His powers include superhuman strength, the ability to fly and a near invincibility to physical harm. Drax can also harness his cosmic energy and release powerful blasts from his hands. (If you're still unsure about who the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' are, you can read our primer here.)

With Rocket Raccoon and Groot both expected to be largely CGI characters, that leaves only Gamora left to be cast and if Marvel isn't already on the phone to Olivia Wilde's agent, they should be.

'Guardians of the Galaxy' hits theaters on August 1, 2014.
