NBC’s ‘Guys With Kids’ Recasts Sara Rue with ‘Childrens Hospital’ Star
It happens just about every season where actors cast in pilots have to bow out even when picked up to series, already having commitment to another program. Sara Rue held an active part in NBC’s new Jimmy Fallon-produced pilot ‘Guys with Kids,’ which the networked picked up to series, though her commitment to ABC’s fellow pilot ‘Malibu Country’ prevents her from doing both. What Adult Swim star will be brought in to replace her?
Deadline reports that absurdest Adult Swim medical comedy ‘Childrens Hospital’ star Erinn Hayes has landed a series regular role on NBC sitcom ‘Guys With Kids,’ set to debut in the fall. Hayes will replace Sara Rue in the role of “Sheila,” who was forced to leave due to commitment to ABC’s similarly picked-up pilot ‘Malibu Country.’
Produced by ‘SNL‘ alum and talk show host Jimmy Fallon, ‘Guys With Kids’ follows three thirty-something fathers, Chris (Jesse Bradford), Nick (Zach Cregger) and Gary (Anthony Anderson) trying to hold on to their youth. Hayes’ character Sheila is ex-wife to Chris, attorney and demanding mother to their son. Due to the character’s lengthy presence in the pilot, it’s likely that Rue’s scenes will be re-shot before the show’s fall airing.
