At this point it doesn't matter whether or not you want Ridley Scott and company to make a 'Blade Runner' sequel, it's happening no matter what. Ridley Scott already has his producers together trying to wrangle up the original writer to pen the sequel and now are looking to possibly bring Harrison Ford back into the mix. Ridley Scott likes to dream big.

Ridley Scott spoke up recently about the 'Blade Runner' sequel and expressed his wishes to bring Harrison Ford back into the mix (via Twitch):

I don't think it'll be Harrison starring but I've got to have him in it somewhere. That'd be amusing...

It's already been proven that the next chapter of the 'Blade Runner' series won't be a prequel of some sort but a sequel set a number of years in the future. Because of that, it is considerably easier for Ridley Scott to squeeze the now older Harrison Ford in a bit role. Hey, at least we'll be able to see what happened to the retired police officer.

The question is how soon will all of this be put together? If they're still trying to convince a screenwriter to start up on the sequel, we probably won't see this appear in theaters until at least late 2014. But what kind of new story can they tell in this universe? We'll just have to wait and find out in due time.
