Yes, yes, there’s a new Star Wars movie arriving next month — but there’s also a new Quentin Tarantino film, lest you forget. The marketing for The Hateful Eight (thankfully) hasn’t been as prolific as Disney’s push for The Force Awakens, but today brings the first TV spot and a new poster to get you in a very particular sort of holiday spirit.

Entertainment Weekly debuted this exclusive TV spot for The Hateful Eight, which features a teensy bit of new footage, but most of what’s new here is in the dialogue. We get delightful lines like Walton Goggins incredulously asking, “A woman? In this white hell?”

The Weinstein Company has also released a new poster with the cautionary tagline “No one comes up here without a damn good reason.”

Set several years after the end of the Civil War, The Hateful Eight stars Kurt Russell as notorious bounty hunter The Hangman, escorting his prisoner Daisy Domergue to Red Rock where she will be hanged. Along the way they encounter Samuel L. Jackson’s soldier-turned-bounty hunter Major Marquis Warren and Walton Goggins’ Chris Mannix, a wily outlaw claiming to be the new sheriff in town. The group takes shelter in a local haberdashery during a snow storm, where they encounter a few more strangers — none of whom can be trusted.

The Hateful Eight also stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth and Demian Bichir, and hits select 70mm-equipped theaters on Christmas before opening nationwide.
