HBO 'Ballers' and 'The Brink' Get First Trailers

HBO surprised all of us yesterday with the trailer premiere of True Detective Season 2, but buried within the announcement was that Dwayne Johnson’s Ballers and Jack Black geopolitical comedy The Brink would also premiere on June 21. Now, both series have their very own trailers to take in as well, so take a look!

Produced by Johnson and Entourage heads Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson, half-hour dramedy Ballers follows the lives of Miami-based active and retired athletes, Johnson among them. The series also stars Hot Tub Time Machine traveler Rob Corddry, Omar Benson Miller, John David Washington, Troy Garity, Donovan Carter, Jazmyn Simon, Taylor Cole and LeToya Luckett.

Meanwhile, Jay Roach-directed The Brink stars Jack Black, Tim Robbins, The Daily Show alum Aasif Mandvi, Orange is the New Black star Pablo Schreiber, Maribeth Monroe, Geoff Pierson, Esai Morales and Boardwalk Empire alum Eric Ladin. Penned by former Weeds writers and siblings Robert and Kim Benabib, the series focuses on “a geopolitical crisis and its effect on three disparate and desperate men.”
