Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman have been busy doing press for 'Pacific Rim,' but there's another film the two are still talking about: 'Hellboy 3.' And if Perlman has his way, the third film in the franchise might still happen with a little help from Legendary Pictures, who co-produced 'Pacific Rim' with Warner Bros.

During today's press stop to promote 'Pacific Rim,' del Toro sat down with ShockTilYouDrop and revealed that Perlman is really keen to get the band back together for another 'Hellboy' outing, and has already spoken to Legendary Pictures head Thomas Tull about it:

I hate giving pieces about it, but last night, we were at dinner and Ron said, 'I would be very happy to do Hellboy again, when are we doing Hellboy 3?'  Thomas [Tull] said, 'I would love to see Hellboy 3.' He didn't say he would love to do it he just said he'd like to see it, but today, I'll ask him.

Later today, the site spoke with Perlman, who seems very optimistic that Legendary will help make 'Hellboy 3' a reality, based on the experiences he and del Toro had with the company while making 'Pacific Rim':

Not just anybody can make this movie. I loved working for Legendary and I know for Guillermo working on Pacific Rim was one of his greatest experiences. The reason I loved working for them is because Guillermo was so happy.  I came in six months into the shoot and he seemed as fresh as a daisy, simply because he was working for someone who appreciated and supported his outlandish visions of what he wanted to put on the screen.  My immediate, silent wish was, wouldn't it be great if these guys came in and helped resolve the Hellboy series.

So that's not a confirmation by any means, but Perlman and del Toro have at least broached the subject with the studio, and if 'Pacific Rim' performs well at the box office, it could be a springboard for negotiating on 'Hellboy 3.'
