Last week saw NBC's forthcoming 'Heroes' return, 'Heroes Reborn,' dropping its first real bit of intel since the initial announcement, specifically that series veteran Jack Coleman would return for the new iteration. Now we've learned the NBC revival may end up without one of its most important characters, as Milo Ventimiglia claims he may not return to the role of Peter Petrelli.

We'll take the actor's comments with a grain of salt for the moment, considering all the secrecy with the project and its current early stages of production, though Ventimiglia responded to a fan question over Twitter to say that he wouldn't in fact take part in the 'Reborn' series due out in 2015:

When last we heard, NBC slotted ‘Heroes Reborn’ for a midseason (likely 2015) premiere, though a webseries in 2014 would somewhat bridge the gap between the original incarnation and its subsequent revival. ‘Nashville‘ star and ‘Heroes’ alum Hayden Panettiere had also previously been asked about ‘Heroes Reborn,’ though at the time she’d not yet been asked to reprise her role as immortal healing cheerleader Claire Bennett.

No doubt Ventimiglia would be apt to continue his career away from 'Heroes,' regardless of his central role in the original incarnation, but what do you think? Is the series already starting off on a low note without a key character like Peter Petrelli in the mix? Could we expect Zachary Quinto's Sylar to put in an appearance, among others? Tell us who you want to see return for 'Heroes Reborn' in the comments!
