The trailer for 'Hit and Run' has, well, hit the internet, giving us our first look at the new comedy written and co-directed by star Dax Shepard.

Shepard stars alongside his real-life fiancee Kristen Bell in the comedy, which hits theaters August 24th. Shepard plays Charlie Bronson (clever), a former getaway driver for a group of bank robbers, and member of the Witness Protection Program whose criminal cohorts of the past find him and plan to take their revenge.

The supporting cast is a doozy, featuring the likes of Bradley Cooper, Michael Rosenbaum, Kristen Chenoweth, and Tom Arnold.  Cooper plays a dreadlocked criminal, while Arnold plays a US Marshal trying to help Shepard get out -- and stay out -- of trouble.

'Hit and Run' looks like your run of the mill action comedy -- pretty generic, and no big laughs in the trailer, aside from seeing Cooper with a hairstyle more commonly worn by burnout musicians or Burning Man attendees. Cooper has taken to more serious roles as of late, distancing himself from the comedic parts that put him on the map, with upcoming turns in Derek Cianfrance's 'The Place Beyond the Pines' (with Ryan Gosling, natch) and Susanne Bier's latest, 'Serena.' A man's gotta make amends for 'The Hangover Part II' somehow.
