Not too many people realize this, but there's more than just two films to the 'Home Alone' series. There's actually four movies already made and now a fifth one is on the way from ABC Family, titled 'Home Alone 5: Alone in the Dark'. The fairly popular television network is planning to release the latest movie during December of this year.

Deadline reveals that in the fifth movie, we follow eight-year-old Finn (Christian Martyn) who moves with his family from California to a scary house in Maine. Convinced that the house is haunted, Finn does what any eight-year-old boy would do and set up traps along the house in order to capture the supernatural being. However, it's not ghosts that are going bump in the night in the house but a group of thieves (Malcolm McDowell, Debi Mazar, Eddie Steeples) who are looking to take whatever they can get their hands on.

The biggest lesson that the 'Home Alone' movies have taught people is not only to make sure that all of your children are actually with you on your family vacation but just to live in a better neighborhood. You'd think after the first time around they'd do something different, like say get a new security system? But if it wasn't for these families' ignorant bliss we wouldn't have the sequels we have today.
