Well, we probably should have seen that coming, what with 'Homeland' season 2 premiering on the very same night as 'Dexter' season 7.  Following 'Dexter's bad-ass and spoiler-y new trailer hitting the web yesterday, Showtime has uncovered a full trailer for 'Homeland' season 2 as well, which while far less full of secrets is every bit as cool.  Are you ready for Carrie Matheson and Nicholas Brody's second year?  If you can handle the truth, check out the new footage!

Showtime has issued a brand-spanking new trailer for 'Homeland' season 2, independent of the footage that was shown before the 'Dexter' panel at Comic-Con 2012.  The new look at 'Homeland' is a little shorter than yesterday's 'Dexter' trailer, and not quite as full of spoilers, but an extremely cool an artsy look at new footage from the second season set to a choir version of The Police's "Every Breath You Take."

The new teaser does show off a bit of the new plot-lines, which will see  rejuvenated Carrie Matheson (Claire Danes) pressed into C.I.A. service once more to travel undercover to Israel.  You'll also see that in spite of becoming a U.S. Congressman, Nicholas Brody is definitely as secretly nefarious as ever, partaking in lots of behavior that, well, let's just say the Senate tends to frown upon.  Meanwhile, Saul's still pretty dour.

Otherwise, relatively little is known about ‘Homeland’ season 2, other than former ‘LOST’ and ‘Rome’ star Zuleikha Robinson will play a Middle Eastern field journalist with a special relationship to Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban) who delivers an ultimatum to Brody. For those who were fans of Nazir’s appearances in the first season, Navi Negahban has been moved into a series regular position alongside Jamey Sheridan’s Vice President Walden.

Check out the full length trailer below, and give us your own theories on where 'Homeland' two will take us when it hits home on September 30!
