If you grew up in the late nineties, then you were blessed with watching a few animated series that were created by Genndy Tartakovsky. He's best known for creating shows like 'Samurai Jack' and 'Dexter's Laboratory' along with writing episodes for 'The Powerpuff Girls' and 'Star Wars: Clone Wars.' You can imagine the utter joy may fans, including myself, are feeling over the fact that he's finally making his feature film debut with Sony Pictures Animation's 'Hotel Transylvania.' And today we get our first look at the spooky characters from the film.

'Hotel Transylvania' is already gaining some attention not only with Tartakovsky in the director's chair but the stellar voice cast which includes Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Steve Buscemi, Andy Samberg, David Spade, Kevin James, Molly Shannon and Cee Lo Green.

While talking to USA Today, Tartakovsky reveals a bit more about the story plot. "The motto of Hotel Transylvania is that it has been human-free since 1898. This is a place that all his friends can come without being persecuted by humans. They are just trying to live their own lives." All of that is turned upside down when a backpacker named Johnny (Samberg) discovers the monster hideaway and ends up falling for Dracula's (Sandler) 118 year old daughter Mavis (Gomez). Johnny hides in the hotel under the disguise as a monster and tries to get him out of there before the rest of the guests figure out who he really is.

If you glanced at the cast and thought that you've seen a couple of the actors team up before in a previous film, then you're right. Adam Sandler starred alongside Kevin James and David Spade in 'Grown Ups,' a fact that Tartakovsky took advantage of. "I said we need that chemistry to show these monsters are a family. When those guys were together in a room, it was just an explosion of energy."

'Hotel Transylvania' will be out in theaters on September 21, 2012.
