Even with an end to the relationship inherent to the title, 'How I Met Your Mother' fans have long since bemoaned the on-and-off nature of Ted's love for Robin, and Barney's role in putting an end to the triangle once and for all. And yet despite the wedding weekend pervading 'HIMYM's ninth and final season, as well as the long-awaited reveal of the mother, it seems Ted and Robin will have plenty of baggage to sort through in season 9 premiere "The Locket" and beyond.

Via TVGuide, we've learned that the ninth and final season premiere will see Ted and Robin still dealing with their unresolved relationship, notably the handholding the pair last engaged in "Something Old" over Robin searching for her locket. "It's a story that will be explored quite a lot and in-depth," says executive producer Pamela Fryman, as TVGuide added that the third episode of the season bears the title "The Broken Code."

So far, the final season of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ has recruited such guest stars as ‘Revenge”s Roger Bart, ‘The Office‘ star Ellie Kemper, Sherri Shepherd and Wayne Brady reprising his role as Barney’s half-brother James Stinson. In addition to the most recent clarifications on the final season's wedding weekend format, CBS also revealed that all four regulars would meet the mother (herself a newly minted regular) prior to Ted.

Like many 'How I Met Your Mother' fans, we're eager to see the Ted-Robin relationship put to bed so she and Barney can get through the wedding, while Ted meets his own bride-to-be, but what say you? Are you intrigued to see how the triangle plays out once more in 'HIMYM's final season?
