With all the actors blabbing about a ninth season of 'How I Met Your Mother,' it's a wonder we haven't heard any kind of official confirmation from either CBS or series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. Nonetheless, 'How I Met Your Mother' regular and 'The Avengers' star Cobie Smulders is the latest to address a ninth season of the CBS comedy, so hear what Robin Scherbatsky herself has to say inside!

Between the multiple tacit confirmations, and series stars Josh Radnor and Neil Patrick Harris addressing the question in interviews, a ninth season of CBS comedy 'How I Met Your Mother' is all but guaranteed. Cobie Smulders is the latest from the cast to address the likelihood of a ninth year, telling E! Online over press for her new film 'Safe Haven':

It's a tricky thing. There's a lot of people involved in a decision like that. But luckily everybody made the same one and came on board. I sort of thought it was going to happen and then around the holidays when it started feeling like, 'Oh, it might not [happen],' it made me really sad. Because it's the end of an era and 'How I Met Your Mother' has become like a second home to me.

So it'll be nice starting season nine knowing this is it. Soak it in. Really be grateful and enjoy this last year. I don't really know they're intention for next season. I know they've figured it out. I know they've figured out everything.

Smulders more or less confirmed the intent of a ninth season over the weekend as well, explaining that any future 'How I Met Your Mother' commitments wouldn't necessarily impact a potential role in ABC's upcoming 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series, set in the same Marvel Cinematic Universe as 'The Avengers.'

Well, what say you? Do you think there's a chance 'How I Met Your Mother' could still end after the current season? How do you think a ninth season of 'HIMYM' will change the story? Give us your thoughts in the comments!
