The latest poster for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1’ is probably the coolest little bit of imagery we’ve seen for the film since much, much earlier in the marketing. We’re thinking way back to those first all-white teasers with President Snow, Peeta, and Joanna, which were very off-putting and weird. There was also that exceedingly stylish poster campaign featuring heroes of the districts, which was unsettling in all its glossiness. Most of the posters and trailers we’ve seen since have been what we’d expect from a promotional campaign, so it’s always nice to see something a little different.

If this poster featuring a drawn Jennifer Lawrence looks familiar, that’s because there was a similar art poster released over the summer for ‘Mockingjay.’ These art posters capture the spirit of the revolution against the Capitol and the tone fairly well, and they’re trying to do something similar to the sort of boutique limited edition art posters created for films. It’s definitely something I might put on my wall if I were in the 10 to 13 age range and blaring Lorde’s “Yellow Flicker Beats” in my room while pouting because my parents won’t let me take an archery class.

We’ve been seeing more and more promo materials for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1’ as the film prepares to hit theaters, and we’re properly stoked for the beginning of Katniss’ ultimate battle against the Capitol and President Snow. The film hits theaters proper on November 21.
