Those attending the Cannes film festival this week (you lucky so-and-sos) will be able to pick up an exclusive “commemorative” poster for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. It also happens to be the first poster for the final installment (half installment?) in the acclaimed and insanely popular franchise. Oh, wait, did you forget? There’s still one more Hunger Games movie arriving this year.

To be fair, you’ve been distracted by Avengers: Age of Ultron and Mad Max: Fury Road (if you do not go see the latter this weekend, you should be grounded from movies for life). But let’s not forget that Mockingjay – Part 2 arrives this fall, bringing the Hunger Games franchise to its intense conclusion.

The first poster, released this week at Cannes, is a bit grim, playing on the color scheme of those gorgeous District 12 Heroes posters from Part 1, but aging things up a bit to give the image a more weathered appearance. There’s something about it that’s reminiscent of the famous American Gothic painting — mostly in the looks on the faces of Katniss Everdeen and her younger sister, Prim, who will feature a bit more prominently in the final film.

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 arrives in theaters on November 20.
