Last September, Tom Hiddleston crashed a country music festival to perform some Hank Williams songs as he headed into production on I Saw the Light, the biopic about the life of the music legend. The actor really committed to the playing the part, and in the first official photo from the film, he sure does look it.

Sony has released the first official image of Hiddleston as Williams in I Saw the Light, effectively recreating a classic headshot of the late country great, as you can see in the side-by-side comparison above. Here’s the full shot of Hiddleston on his own (click for larger version):

In addition, Sony has released this official synopsis, and we’re sure a full trailer isn’t far behind:

I SAW THE LIGHT, the story of the legendary country western singer Hank Williams, who in his brief life created one of the greatest bodies of work in American music. The film chronicles his meteoric rise to fame and its ultimately tragic effect on his health and personal life.

That will likely draw some comparisons to Walk the Line, another biopic about an iconic country singer, but with a trailer likely to arrive any day now, we’ll get a better handle on Hiddleston’s film soon.

I Saw the Light also stars Elizabeth Olsen, Bradley Whitford, David Krumholtz and Cherry Jones, and hits select theaters on November 27 before going nationwide shortly after.
