In Memoriam: Renly Baratheon, ‘Game of Thrones’

Renly became a fan favorite on 'Game of Thrones' with his illicit gay affair with Sir Loras and all that handsomeness going on. And while everyone was fighting over taking the throne from the Lannisters, Renly was coming up with his own solid strategy -- too bad he never got to see it through. Renly's own brother Stannis and his witchy companion Melisandre conjured up a shadowy entity that swooped into Renly's tent and killed him before he could complete his quest. Most characters on 'Game of Thrones' are morally corrupt, and Renly was one of the few that seemed genuine and kind. His death was sudden and tragic, leaving a big Renly-shaped hole in our hearts.
