The cast for Christopher Nolan's upcoming science fiction adventure 'Interstellar' was already quite stellar (yes yes, pun intended), but now they've gone and added Matt Damon to the mix. Everyone's favorite baby-faced action star (fresh off his action hero work in 'Elysium') will have what is being described as a small role in the film, but you know the old saying that we're just making up right now: a little bit of Matt Damon goes a long way.

The scoop comes the Playlist, who report that Damon will be on the film's Icelandic set for two weeks of the four month shooting schedule. Like everything else about the film, his role is very much a hush-hush secret -- we imagine it'll be a minor role that's just important enough to demand a recognizable face. Hopefully, it won't be a 'Prometheus' situation, where an intriguing sci-fi blockbuster crammed stars into the tiniest roles for no reason whatsoever.

Damon is joining an ensemble that includes Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, Topher Grace, Jon Lithgow, Ellen Burstyn and Wes Bentley, proving that yes, every single actor in Hollywood wants to work with the man who made 'Inception' and 'The Dark Knight.' We wish we could tell you anything about who everyone is playing or what the movie is about (something about astronauts journeying through a wormhole), but this is a project that rivals the J.J. Abrams' "mystery box" in terms of secrecy. And that's perfectly fine -- Nolan's made enough great movies to earn our trust that he's making something worthwhile and worth the secrecy.

'Interstellar' set to arrive on November 7, 2014.
