In Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar,’ the characters are at the mercy of time. When they land on a planet at the outer edge of a black hole, seven years pass back on Earth for every hour they spend on the surface. Once that time passes, there’s nothing they can do to get it back. If they fail on the first try, they won’t get a second.

Typical audiences face a similar struggle when watching ‘Interstellar.’ You only get one shot per ticket to dig in to the film’s mysteries. But Paramount’s next marketing plan for ‘Interstellar,’ which could have been inspired by this scene, flips that around, as members of AMC Theatres’ AMC Stubs loyalty program will have the opportunity to buy an “Unlimited Ticket” to the film, and ponder its story and scenes of Jessica Chastain eating corn over and over again.

The ‘Interstellar’ Unlimited Ticket will be available at over 300 AMCs around the country. The press release says “ticket price varies by location, ranging from $19.99 to $34.99”; at the AMC Empire in Times Square, the standard admission is $14.99, meaning you’d have to see the film three times to justify the high-end unlimited price. The upside is that the Unlimited Ticket is good for any showtime and format including IMAX. At $20 a pop in New York City, you’d only need to see it twice in IMAX to make your money back.

So if you remain beguiled by ‘Interstellar’’s journey (and you’re an AMC Stubs member), the Unlimited Ticket might be something you want to consider. Keep in mind that supplies of these things are not unlimited, so if you miss your opportunity to buy one before they run out, your only other chance to get one is if someone figures out how to time travel from the fifth-dimension and send you a message three weeks ago, giving you a heads-up about this program in advance.
