Like a last call at Paddy's Pub, there are some moments spent with the 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' gang that we hope never end. Still, with the most recent eighth season clocking in at no more than 10 episodes, could there be an imminent end to the misadventures of Mac, Charlie, Dennis, Sweet Dee and Frank on the horizon? Will the next season be the last for the 'Sunny' gang? New word from FX addresses the future of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia!'

'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' season 8 came and went a bit more quickly than we're used to, clocking at 10 episodes rather than the usual 13 or so. As the show heads into a confirmed ninth season in fall 2013, with burgeoning film careers for all its leads, fans are no doubt wondering when Paddy's pub will close its doors for good.

Thankfully FX isn't too keen to shut down the gang, as president John Landgraf revealed to reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour panel yesterday that he envisioned 'Always Sunny' lasting through at least a tenth season, depending. "There is a high likelihood for a 10th season,” Landgraf said. "Whether it goes beyond that depends on whether the people who created the show want to go and whether the audience still wants to watch. But there will definitely be one more year, probably two."

Surely the audience would tune in for a tenth, particularly final season, so for now we'll hope the series leads prefer ending things on even numbers. What say you? Should 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' continue on through a tenth season, or close up shop after the coming year? Sound off in the comments!
