J.J. Abrams is one busy guy in Hollywood. Not only is he hard at work on 'Star Trek 2,' but his production company, Bad Robot, is busy signing on other projects for the director/producer to look at. And they may have a new reason to go back into outer space.

According to Vulture, Bad Robot is looking at 'God Particle,' a script for their Insurge Pictures small budget division. According to Vulture, God Particle will be another trip into outer space for Abrams and Co. "After a physics experiment with a large hadron accelerator causes the Earth to seemingly vanish completely, the terrified crew of an orbiting American space station is left floating in the middle of now-even-more-empty space. When a European spacecraft appears on their radar, the Americans must determine whether it’s their salvation, or a harbinger of doom."

Not sure how more humans being sighted after the Earth disappears is a bad thing, but if they want to 'Event Horizon' the movie, then by all means. Abrams isn't attached to direct, so he would more than likely play the role of producer or executive producer. Insurge Pictures' last movie was 'The Devil Inside,' which was one of the worst car crashes to hit theaters in years. But in Hollywood, even crap makes a profit when 'Devil' brought in over $100 million dollars on its $1 million dollar budget.

The plan for 'God Particle' is to shoot the movie for around $5 million. We'll keep you updated on who they get to direct and who they cast. If we're lucky, 'The Devil Inside' guys won't be anywhere near it.
