Now hold on a second -- Jackie Chan is making another action movie? Didn't he say he was done doing action films? It appears if he hasn't truly abandoned the action genre just yet and is looking to make a new action/comedy, this time it's an English language one.

Chan hasn't been doing that many American movies as of late. His last big one was 'The Karate Kid' and we haven't heard anything on a sequel. Recently Chan said that he was done with doing action films because he was getting too old and wanted to branch out into more dramatic roles.

If branching out means he's going to do more comedies with action in them then someone needs to explain to Jackie what "branching out" actually means. Chan’s JC Group International is working on an untitled action/comedy for the star, and they've hired writer Jay Longino to pen the script.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the English language film, based on an original idea by Chan, is about "a detective (Chan) who must track down an American gambler that has skipped out on his debt owed to a Macau casino syndicate." The movie is going to shoot in Hong Kong, Macau, Eastern Europe and China.

Chan will of course star and produce the movie. His next film is 'Chinese Zodiac,' which hits theaters in Beijing on December 12th, 2012. Click here if you missed the trailer.

Welcome back to action Jackie! We're so glad you decided to almost not quite leave it.
