Tina Fey’s Mean Girls was based on the book Queen Bees and Wannabes, by Rosalind Wiseman. And now another one of Wiseman’s books about dealing with mean ladies is getting the big screen treatment: Queen Bee Moms And Kingpin Dads: Dealing With The Parents, Teachers, Coaches, and Counselors Who Can Make — or Break — Your Child’s Future (whew, that’s a title) is being adapted as Mean Moms, with Jennifer Aniston in a leading role.

Per Deadline, Aniston will reunite with her Horrible Bosses 2 director Sean Anders for Mean Moms, which follows a happily married woman and mother of two, who moves from a small town to the fancy suburbs, where she discovers — much to her horror and discomfort — a whole world of mothers who compete with one another. Like Mean Girls, Mean Moms is based on one of Wiseman’s advice books, and while it’s not a straight-up sequel, it will explore similar concepts for adults.

Aniston is playing a leading role in the film, although it’s not clear if she’ll play the nice new mom or one of the mean, snobby ones. Anders and his writing partner Sean Morris wrote the latest draft of the script based on Wiseman’s writings. The pair also worked together on We’re the Millers (in which Aniston also starred), Dumb and Dumber To and Hot Tub Time Machine 2.

Anders and Morris have delivered some hit comedies, but I can’t help but wish a woman was at least writing the script for something like this. Was Tina Fey not available?
