Jennifer Lawrence is emerging as the clear frontrunner to win Best Actress at the 2013 Oscars for her role in 'Silver Linings Playbook' alongside Bradley Cooper. So what will she do as a follow-up? Lawrence has signed on to reteam with Cooper and her 'Silver Linings' director David O. Russell on the upcoming film 'American Bulls--t.'

In addition to the 'Silver Linings' alumni, 'American Bulls--t' stars Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner (with Lawrence and Cooper than means all five stars of the film have been nominated for acting Oscars).

The project, which will eventually have to drop the 'American Bulls--t' title, is based on the ABSCAM scandal from the late-70s, which included a sting operation by the FBI to bust crooked Congressmen. The film goes something like this:

The Untitled David O. Russell Project is based on the true story of a notorious financial con artist (Bale) and his mistress/partner in crime (Adams), who were forced to work with an out of control federal agent (Cooper) to turn the tables on other con artists, mobsters, and politicians. At the epicenter of the entire tale, is the passionate and volatile leader of the New Jersey state assembly (Renner) who is also the local hero and mayor of impoverished Camden.

Lawrence would play Bale's wife in the film (can you imagine having a wife that looks like Jennifer Lawrence and a mistress that looks like Amy Adams?...) and would come to the project after the 2013 Oscar season is over and she's done with all her 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' filming.

The movie formerly known as 'American Bulls--t' is set to hit theaters in 2013.
