Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the best female performer of them all? At tonight's 2012 MTV Movie Awards 'Snow White and the Huntsman' co-stars Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth named who the most outstanding actress is, and it just so happens the Best Female Performance winner was 'The Hunger Games' star Jennifer Lawrence.

'The Hunger Games' was one of the biggest box office draws of this past spring so it should be no surprise it's winning at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. The story centered on Katniss Everdeen, a young girl who volunteers herself into the deadly Hunger Games in order to protect her younger sister from what may have been a grizzly fate. She ends up turning into the symbol of hope for the twelve districts as she not only fights for her life but for the possible freedom of others from their oppressive rule. The film was directed by Gary Ross based off the novel written by Suzanne Collins.

Unfortunately Jennifer Lawrence was not there to receive her Best Female Performance award, which Kristen Stewart was bummed about, but she did tape an acceptance speech for all of the viewers at home. Lawrence says it's been "an absolute honor" to play the brave young warrior Katniss Everdeen and win the award. We certainly look forward to see her fight again with her bow and arrow handy in 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' next year.
