Jim Carrey Books 'Loomis Fargo' with 'Napoleon Dynamite' DirectorBritt Hayes |
Jared Hess' last film was 'Gentlemen Broncos,' a film that wasn't very well-received -- to put it kindly -- but the writer/director is back with a new film called 'Loomis Fargo,' and Jim Carrey has just signed on to make sure this movie gets your attention.
Variety reports that Jared Hess is preparing to direct his fourth feature, 'Loomis Fargo' and Relativity Media is in negotiations to acquire the film in which career goofball Jim Carrey is set to star. 'SNL's Lorne Michaels is producing the film, which follows four dumb guys in the south who somehow managed to pull off one of the biggest heists in American history when they robbed a Loomis Fargo truck of $17 million.
Emily Spivey, formerly a staff writer for 'SNL' and current creator/writer/showrunner of the NBC show 'Up All Night' wrote the first draft of the script, which was rewritten by 'Eastbound and Down' team Jody Hill and Danny McBride and is currently being reworked by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer, the guys behind 'Humble Pie.'
Carrey will play Dave Ghantt, a night security guy for Loomis Fargo, military vet, and the one who orchestrates the heist with his three idiot friends -- who can't be that dumb or else they never would have pulled it off, right?
