Yo Linden, what up? The stars of AMC’s The Killing are next going to find themselves on very different sides of the law, as Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman reunite for Amazon’s new TV update of Joe Wright’s Hanna. Plus – what does it mean for Altered Carbon?

Per The Hollywood Reporter, it was back in May that Amazon first picked up an adaptation of Wright’s 2011 Saoirse Ronan film, which follows “the journey of an extraordinary young girl as she evades the relentless pursuit of an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is.” Newcomer Esme Creed-Miles will take the title role, while Enos portrays Marissa, “an efficient and ruthless agent who has risen up the ranks of the CIA.” Kinnaman will play Hanna’s father Erik, a “hardened, intuitive and uncompromising soldier and mercenary, who, for the past 15 years, has raised his daughter in the remote forests of northern Poland.”

Cate Blanchett and Eric Bana played the Enos and Kinnaman roles in the 2011 film, which also starred Tom Hollander, Olivia Williams and Michelle Dockery. Kinnaman’s casting also serves as confirmation that the actor would not return for a second season of Netflix’s Altered Carbon, despite surprise acclaim for the series in the weeks since its launch. The Night Manager alum David Farr will write the new Hanna (absent Wright), while FX Legion helmer Sarah Adina Smith will direct the pilot.

It’s certainly better circumstances than the last time we saw Kinnaman and Enos onscreen, but check out the original trailer below and stay tuned for the latest on Amazon’s Hanna.
