MGM is making progress on their long-gestating remake of 'Robocop.' The film, which had visionary director Darren Aronofsky attached at one time, has found  new life under 'Elite Squad' director Jose Padilha.

Now comes word that they may have found someone to fill the clunky metal shoes of Peter Weller...

Scandinavian import Joel Kinnaman, best known for his recent work as Detective Holder on AMC's 'The Killing', is in talks to star in the 'Robocop' reboot.

While 'The Killing' certainly had its fair share of bumps in the first season (namely, showrunner Veena Sud's inability to deliver a complete narrative after the tireless ad campaign insinuated a resolution to the mystery of "Who Killed Rosie Larsen"), there was one thing no one could argue: the acting on the show was fantastic.

Kinnaman plays Holder with itchy-grittiness, which just might work for the 'Robocop' reboot, which is being described as a "gritty origin story."
