‘John Wick 2’ Begins Shooting This Fall and Yeah, He’s Thinking He’s Back

John Wick was one of the greatest surprises of last year (a surprise only if you don’t believe in the power of Keanu Reeves), a riveting and lively action film that ticks off all the boxes: Keanu Reeves kicking ass, a cute puppy, a cool night club packed with lots of bad guys for Reeves to knock out. It was as if SNL’s Stefon were describing the ideal action movie — it had everything. The sequel officially begins shooting this fall, promising more Wick, more action, and hopefully more cute puppies.

John Wick 2 isn’t the only highly-anticipated action sequel shooting this fall — so is Jack Reacher 2, which means around this time next year, we’ll be gearing up for two excellent action movie sequels starring two of our favorite action stars. What a time to be alive.

Coming Soon reports that John Wick 2 will begin filming this fall with Reeves returning to reprise the titular role of the enigmatic hitman John Wick. Directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, along with screenwriter Derek Kolstad, are also returning for the action-packed sequel. Leitch and Stahelski previously established themselves as stunt coordinators for major films, and that knowledge really paid off with the first John Wick, which starred Reeves as a widowed hitman out for revenge when some criminals steal his car and kill his dog.

John Wick 2 doesn’t have an official release date yet, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a potential John Wick 2 and Jack Reacher 2 double bill.
