Today hasn’t been a great day in film news, so let’s focus on something happier! Director Jon Favreau has unleashed lots of photos from behind the scenes of his upcoming live-action ‘Jungle Book’ film. Favreau is working with a bunch of very awesome, very talented people for the new Disney film, and many of them make appearances in these photos, including a surprise visit from ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ directing duo Joe and Anthony Russo.

Favreau has been taking to his Instagram account to share photos from behind the scenes of the upcoming film, including a fantastic shot of newcomer Neel Sethi, who plays Mowgli. There’s also photos of some of the voice actors: Scarlett Johansson, who voices Kaa the snake; Bill Murray, who plays Baloo the bear; and Christopher Walken, who lends his voice for Bagheera, the black panther.

Fans of New Orleans music (or if you’re like me, a fan of ‘Treme’) will also spot legendary musicians Kermit Ruffins and Dr. John. Favreau famously filmed part of ‘Chef’ in New Orleans, and it seems likely that he met these talented guys while he was there. These photos also seem to indicate that Ruffins and Dr. John may be providing the film’s music, but it would be even better if they were also lending their vocal talents to ‘The Jungle Book.’ Dare to dream.

And then there’s an additional surprise: ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who visited the set of the new film and spent some time with old Marvel pal Favreau, the former ‘Iron Man’ director. And Favreau isn't the only friend of Marvel they were visiting, as both Johansson and ‘Jungle Book’ co-star Idris Elba are stars of the MCU.
