'Jupiter Ascending' Posters Promise One Crazy Movie

Nobody makes movies quite like Andy and Lana Wachowski, so it's not surprising that everything we've seen from 'Jupiter Ascending' looks just plain bonkers and totally unique. Anyone who made the 'Matrix' trilogy and 'Speed Racer' and 'Cloud Atlas' has earned our complete and undying loyalty, mainly because they keep on doing things that we've never seen before. Two new 'Jupiter Ascending' posters arrived today, and they too showcase something completely special: Channing Tatum as a heavily armed, tattooed space elf.

The first of them shows off Tatum's Caine, a badass galactic warrior of some kind. The second shows off Mila Kunis' Jupiter, who looks like a completely ordinary, average person but actually has some kind of huge intergalactic destiny that has tons of people trying to kill her (and Tatum rushing to save her). The actual plot of 'Jupiter Ascending' remains cloudy, but we know that a space opera action movie starring these two and directed by the Wachowskis is something that we just have to see.

Here's the official synopsis, which still isn't that helpful in discerning what the heck this movie is:

Jupiter Jones was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning toilets and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine, a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along - her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.

'Jupiter Ascending' arrives in theaters this July 18.
