Well, pull us up a failure pile in a sadness bowl, Patton Oswalt is coming to 'Justified' season 4!  All year long the word has felt curiously quiet on the fourth outing for our favorite FX gunslinger Raylan Givens, other than a few recent casting snippets, so we're glad that details are finally starting to emerge.  But given the comedian's wide-range of characters on TV over the years, who might Oswalt be popping up as this time?

'Justified' has always maintained a certain breed of off-color humor, but never so on the mark as to cast comedian Patton Oswalt in the show's upcoming fourth season, set to debut sometime in early 2013.  Says TVLine, Oswalt will appear on the critically-acclaimed FX series as Bob Sweeney, a local constable who went to high school with Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant), and gets hired by his lawful friend to watch Arlo's house.

Oswalt will first appear in the season 4 premiere helping Raylan catch a bail jumper, when he's not busy telling and re-telling the same tale of his high school football glory days.  Still yet to be cast for the fourth season are the roles of a rule-bending military police sergeant who shares a past with Boyd, a fugitive family man who teams up with a pair of drug addicts, and a charismatic young preacher who starts cutting into Boyd’s profits.

What say you?  Is FX's latest choice for 'Justified' in Patton Oswalt, well, justified?  Tell us how you’d like to see ‘Justified’ season 4 play out in the comments below!
