Every fifteen or so years we get a pop princess that more or less (or better or worse) becomes the voice of a particular generation. This generation's singing queen is arguably Katy Perry, so what better way to let everybody know that then by releasing a documentary/concert movie on said singer.

'Katy Perry: Part of Me' chronicles a portion of her career and personal life as it faces it's ups and downs. The movie reflects on her past when she tried to become a gospel singer and how she ended up turning into the international pop princess that we know her to be today. We see Katy Perry as she goes through her California Dreams Tour and deals with personal issues which include her divorce with Russell Brand. If she's willing to let Paramount Pictures and company release footage of her while she goes through that low point in her life, then that's rather brave of her.

At the same time it's not much of a surprise that Katy Perry gets her own documentary/concert movie. She's a popular singer, regardless of your musical preference. You can't escape her on the radio and at this point it's merely a matter of time before she starts getting more acting roles in film or television.

'Part of Me' is directed by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz. Go ahead and check out the brand new motion poster for 'Katy Perry: Part of Me' below. Don't forget that the movie is set to come out in theaters on July 5, 2012.
