‘Kick-Ass 2′ Trailer: Time to Go Balls to the Wall

The 'Kick-Ass 2' trailer is here and it's here to remind you that this summer's superheroes aren't just in 'Iron Man 3' or 'Man of Steel.' Nope, Iron Man and Superman are great but now Kick-Ass and Hit Girl are back and this time the only choice is to go balls to the wall. And no, this new 'Kick-Ass 2' trailer is NSFW.

This new 'Kick-Ass 2' trailer, which premiered on MTV, features a lot of the same raunchy gags as the original but ramped up in the same way a normal superhero sequel would. This isn't an origin story anymore and the stakes are higher as the Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) reinvents himself as "the world's first supervillain" with the filthiest name.

Joining the action this time around is Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes. It seems from the trailer that he's got a big part the movie but it's hard to tell if they're just using Jim Carrey's presence in the movie to help sell the movie (i.e., Jim Carrey does not have a huge part in 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone' despite what the trailers would have you believe).

All things told, it seems like if you liked the original film, you'll really get a kick (pun most definitely intended) out of 'Kick-Ass 2' when it hits theaters this summer.

When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes.

Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world’s first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there’s only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.

The film opens in theaters on August 16 and you can watch the new 'Kick-Ass 2' trailer below.
