Sir Anthony Hopkins is known best by many for his portrayal of classy sociopath Hannibal Lecter—and it’s that sort of sophisticated, unnerving character that Hopkins has made a staple of his career-diet. So it’s not really surprising to see him playing yet another aristocratic, maybe-a-little-unhinged type in the trailer for ‘Kidnapping Mr. Heineken.’ But why complain? He’s just too damn good at it.

The first trailer for ‘Kidnapping Mr. Heineken’ has arrived, with Hopkins playing the titular Mr. Heineken, who is—yes, of course—the heir to the Heineken fortune. As such, he’s attracted some bros who think they’re pretty clever, and who want to kidnap Mr. Heineken and hold him for ransom, but they’re not nearly as smart as they think. Mr. Heineken is far more intelligent, and he’s turning these would-be masterminds against each other with some subtle psychological games that would make ol’ Hannibal Lecter pretty proud.

‘Kidnapping Mr. Heineken’ comes from director Daniel Alfredson, who directed the second two films in the Swedish ‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ trilogy, which makes this new film with Anthony Hopkins all the more attractive—and seems to promise that we aren’t looking at your standard thriller, either.

‘Kidnapping Mr. Heineken’ also stars Sam Worthington, Jim Sturgess, and Ryan Kwanten, and invades theaters on March 6, 2015.
