Last week we were shocked to learn that 'The Legend of Korra' would debut its fourth book "Balance" on October 3, just over a month after the season 3 finale, and the first to air entirely on Nickelodeon streaming. Mixed reception though the announcement brought, the 'Korra' creators have even better tidings to offer with their upcoming New York Comic-Con 2014 panel, and a brand-new image of Korra's new look in season 4!

Per co-creator Bryan Konietzko's Tumblr page, Nickelodeon will host its 'Legend of Korra' panel on Thursday, October 9 at 5:15 P.M., just days after Book 4 premiere "The Calling," with location and attending talent for the panel to be determined. Additionally, Konietzko shared Korra's new design in the coming season, which includes a bob haircut that harkens back to Joaquim Dos Santo's original design for the character. Says Konietzko, "It wouldn’t be the Avatarverse without some hairstyle changes, now would it?"

And while we wouldn't necessarily get our hopes up just yet, note that Korra seems to be standing in the below image, unless wheelchair technology in the 'Avatar' universe has taken some serious left-turns in the time since the finale.

We'll be on hand in New York City to get the latest from the cast and crew on Book 4: "Balance," but in the meantime, what do you think? Might 'The Legend of Korra''s New York Comic-Con appearance prove the last for the 'Avatar' sequel series? What do you hope to see from the October 3 premiere? Check out the full image of new Korra below, as well as our Comic-Con 2014 interview with stars Janet Varney and David Faustino above, and tell us in the comments what you want learn from New York Comic-Con next month!
