Tom Hardy has had a fairly big year in film (well, his last few years have been fairly big, to be fair), and before we see him opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in this winter’s highly-anticipated The Revenant, we’ll see him opposite himself in Legend, the British crime drama in which Hardy plays notorious ’60s gangster twins.

Universal and StudioCanal previously released two trailers for the upcoming film, and today brings a third sneak peek at the drama, which may be flying a little under your radar. Hardy plays twins Reginald and Ron Kray, notorious gangsters on the ’60s crime scene in London. Written and directed by Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential), the film follows the two brothers as they attempt to build their criminal empire, and all the usual stuff that comes between family members and business associates: a girl, jealousies, professional and personal rivalries, etc.

Hardy is well-known for fully dedicating himself to his roles, and perhaps slightly more impressive than the visual trickery at work here is how different the actor plays each of the twins, not only in appearance but in performance.

From Academy Award® winner Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential, Mystic River) comes the true story of the rise and fall of London’s most notorious gangsters, Reggie and Ron Kray, both portrayed by Tom Hardy in an amazing double performance. Legend is a classic crime thriller taking us into the secret history of the 1960s and the extraordinary events that secured the infamy of the Kray twins.

Legend also stars Emily Browning, Christopher Eccleston, David Thewlis and Kingsman: The Secret Service’s Taron Egerton. The film hits theaters in the UK on September 9 before premiering at TIFF and eventually hitting US theaters on October 2.
