Just as The Flash and Arrow have gotten back to work in time for Comic-Con 2017, so too have DC’s Legends of Tomorrow rejoined the Waverider – with a twist. Not only have our first photos of the Legends back in action arrived, but also production news that might raise eyebrows for the premiere.

Arrow and Legends executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed that Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 has begun production, albeit surprisingly out of sequence for the time-turning show. As Guggenheim explains, Legends Season 3 will shoot its second episode, “Freakshow” first, with the actual October 10 premiere to follow.

The title page also notes that prior Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and Iron Fist director Kevin Tancharoen (brother to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. showrunner Maurissa) will helm the episode, which may or may not feature Titanic alum Billy Zane as P.T. Barnum, given the sideshow-esque title and likely complex scheduling. Rather then speculate, let’s enjoy first photo teases from the cast:

Elsewhere of Legends of Tomorrow Season 3, Tala Ashe will take the series regular role of 2030 computer wiz Zari Adrianna Tomaz, likely an incarnation of DC’s Isis. Maisie Richardson-SellersVixen is also confirmed to return, despite her absence from the recent synopsis, while Season 3 is itself set to premiere on Tuesday, October 10 after Season 4 of The Flash.

We’ll hear more from Comic-Con 2017, but stay tuned for more on Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 in the meantime.
