The LEGO Star Wars games were some of the most entertaining family video games of the past 15 years. It launched the LEGO video game series and revitalized interest in both Star Wars and LEGO. The only problem? They ran out of Star Wars stories to tell. With both the original trilogy, prequel trilogy and Clone Wars all represented in games, there was really nowhere left to go…until George Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney and Star Wars: The Force Awakens came along. That’s right, warm up your Xbox and PS4s because LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is coming to gaming systems this summer.

Warner Bros. Interactive, TT Interactive, The LEGO Group and Lucasfilm announced jointly this morning that LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be available on June 28 and would feature all the characters from the biggest movie of all-time, including Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO, BB-8, Kylo Ren, General Hux and Captain Phasma. (Please don’t forget to include our favorite, FN-2199 aka TR-8R.)

In addition to the tried and true LEGO format, which would include levels based on the worlds in the film (like Jakku and Starkiller Base), the game will also feature “exclusive playable content” that will link the story gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, “providing additional insight about the new movie and its characters.” How exactly that will work, considering the LEGO video games never take themselves very seriously, remains to be seen.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be available for PlayStation, XBox and Nintendo platforms as well as Windows PC on June 28.
