'Looper' International Trailer is Awesome But Does it Give Too Much Away?

Brace yourselves, ‘Looper’ enthusiasts. An international trailer for Rian Johnson’s time-warping sci-fi thriller just landed, and it better explains what Joseph Gordon-Levitt and his futuristic counterpart, Bruce Willis, will be up against when the movie arrives in September.

Here’s what we knew. Gordon-Levitt plays an assassin whose hired by mobsters from the future to kill victims sent back through time for reasons that don’t concern him. His life flips, however, the day one of his victims ends up being a future version of himself (played by Willis).

Early promo clips have set up that basic premise, though this new trailer explains who Willis is going after in the film’s present-day, establishing an adversary that both versions of Gordon-Levitt’s character may or may not decide to lock horns with.

Confused? Yeah, so are we, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We already were off-the-charts excited for ‘Looper.’ Johnson’s first two films – ‘Brick’ and ‘The Brothers Bloom’ – established his strong directorial voice. This one sounds like it’s going to be a blast. Here’s the UK trailer. The movie hits theaters on Sept. 28.
